UPDATE (1/24/2013): Okay, after making my tree private due to the fact it hasn't been cleaned up, I received two heart-wrenching stories about why the writers were on Ancestry, and requesting to see my tree. So, I'm making it public again. Just know that I have lots of duplicates, dates that don't completely match, etc. I have not had time to clean it up and verify everything. Some of it is documented. Much of it is not. So, if you find any of it helpful, that's great. If any of it concerns you because it conflicts with something you've found, don't worry: Yours is probably right.
Original note to DNA matches: My tree is private, simply because when I first gained access to all records as a paid subscriber in November 2012, I got carried away, just knowing that I was somehow related to a famous warlord, bandit, or cabaret singer, and that if I just kept digging . . . well, I dumped a lot of info into the tree fast, and it needs serious review.
After my DNA results arrived, I made my profile public so that curious cousins could make sure I wasn't also related to known perverts, politicians, or personal injury lawyers before they contacted me. But, I got a message from a DNA match who was concerned that her tree could be wrong because, when she viewed my tree, she found some details that didn't jive with hers. I caused her to question her research and the identity of her ancestors. I'm sure her tree is accurate, and I don't want to be responsible for anyone else questioning the faithfulness or marital fidelity of their forbears. And, I don't want to be challenged to a research duel (drawn documents at ten paces?)
As I have time, I'll clean up the tree and make it public.
Meanwhile, feel free to email me here or send a message via Facebook (a link to my page is in my profile). If we're related, even distantly, I'd love to hear from you. Maybe you can loan me some money (kidding).
Thanks,
Michael
